Use on 2011 MB W204 C250. Before I bought this, it was rather difficult to find a reveiw. But at $150, it is much better that the next best Kumho. The original Conti was VERY VERY noisy, very little grip for its price and worse it only lasted 13000+ km. Rear wear was worse than front and will definitely not pass inspection. I had Kumho Ecsta on previous c180 w203 coupe after Pirelli PZero and its was 120% better than the PZero s. But as usual when a trye is good and becomes popular, the Australian resellers increase the profit margin exponentially.
Found Momo on ebay and for 2 months, I searched for a review on them. I only found 1 customer review. Since it was cheaper than Kumho, I enquired about it and the seller said that if it did not performed as they said it would, they would gladly pro-rata for another make. Most I d loose is $100 for 4. Due to car s staggered sizes.
I have changed so many tyres for the 35 years of driving. From what I can tell, from me waiting for the tyres to be balanced and put on, this Momo s were, for them, the easiest to balanced. I could watch them, and it took only 5 goes on the balance machine. The kumho s too more than 7 before it balanced properly and then it would loose its balance as it wears.
I ve had the Momo s from about 13000 something to now, about 72000+ km. The rears are worn now, maybe another 3000 km and need to change. The fronts still have about 20%. That ll last me another 10000 km.
Noise - on the original Conti s that come with the car, Contact 5 I think, noise was unbearable as it wears. The noise overpowers the engine noise. It gets louder and louder as it wears. The grip also reduces exponentially as it wears. At about 40% thread it starts to aquaplane on small pools, NSW Sydney roads.
This Momo s have been consistant throughout its life. Tyre road noise is still low. I can hear the engine and transmission whine more than I can hear the tyre road noise. Of course, on Sydney roads, when the road is coarser that normal then I can hear the roar but not as much as the Contis. Even at 10% thread, it will aquaplane slightly but when car nanny takes over, it stops aquaplanning immediately. Whereas with the Contis, it does not matter what the car nanny does, it just aquaplanes until you almost have to stop.
Grip - What can I say, again the Momo s are consistant. The Conti s looses it grip as it wears. Car nanny comes on more often with the Contis than the Momos. In fact even at 10% rear thread, nanny does not come on until I push it to extreme.
Life - Contis lasted only 13000+ from new. Momo s I ve had them on, now reading 72000+ km.
I am definitely going back to Momos.
