I’ve found these tyres to be good in all conditions and great for dry weather driving. I’m very happy with the wear and would buy these tyres again.
Great grip. Disappointing over time. Poor fuel economy. Dont buy! Great when new, very quiet, but very squishy. Need to run at least 40psi to improve response but then VERY noisy. Need to run at least 40psi to improve response but then VERY noisy. Now after about 20000 kilometers, they are just as noisy as any other brand. Quite hard on the road at 40 psi. If I run less they lose the precision handling. Still VERY grippy.
Worst feature is the huge increase in fuel usage. at least 10 to 15% worse. No joke. Car feels like the handbrake is on, or tyres are all almost flat. Very sluggish and needs much more accelerator to keep up with traffic. Instantaneous fuel usage used to read about 5 or 6 litres per 100 kilometers steady at 100 Kph. now reads 8 to 9 litres per 100 kilometers. A regular trip I do used to average 7.4 litres per 100 kilometers, Now the average is 9 litres per 100 kilometers.
Will not buy again.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

however for the price i guess i expected more.
having had hundreds of tyres in the past they i would rate them a 80/100
good for a spirited daily driver but if you want more id suggest getting something like a semi slick or even the bridgestone re003.
they just dont have the turn in or feedback i desire
if your a saftey concious driver get them no issues
if your a boy racer or have some serious power go grab some hancook rs3 s or bridgstone re003 sRead more

They have been the best tyre I ve had fitted to date and reasonably priced!
They have phenomenal grip in the wet and dry, even under hard acceleration they have never slipped (only squealed).
Tyre wear so far has shown great durability for a performance tyre although care was taken to regularly rotate them.
Road noise was on par with my previous Goodyear F1 Directional tyres but that s possibly more to do with owning a Subaru itself.
The confidence it inspires is more then enough for the street and would definitely buy again or the new PS4s.Read more

I was very disappointed with the durability. After reading reviews here with many people saying they had managed 40,000 to 50,000km on a set I was expecting decent life out of these. Mine were down to the tread wear indicator after 17,000km and I am replacing them after less than 19,000km. Tyres were rotated and wear was even so I am assuming there were no issues with alignment or camber that contributed to the low durability.
They were always correctly inflated (my car has a tyre pressure warning system) and I am no hoon.
I contacted Michelin customer service and they directed me to a sales rep for the area. Waiting for a response but not really expecting they will do much about it.
Will be replacing with a different brand that I use on my Subaru and get around 35-40,000km out of with very similar performance.
EDIT: I was contacted by a Michelin rep, who contacted the retailer for some extra info. They checked the vehicle and determined that the wheel alignment was out - apparently this is was enough to chew through the tyres so quickly. I will be having the alignment checked every 5000km and hopefully get more life out of the new set.Read more

I have rotated twice only, as these have been wearing great. Were expensive compared to the Goodyear NCTs i had on before but these PS3 s offered superior performance and reasonable longevity. Have just reached the tread indicator now and will be replacing with Michelin Primacy as I have been told that the Primacy offers more high mileage ( i only do freeway kms) and the Pilot Sport 3s are for sport/performance handling.Read moreSimilar opinion? I thought this tyre was a little bit expensive than what I have used ever usually. I have experienced many kinds of tyres for a standard sedan from low to a high version for 25 years. This tyre is not cheap but not very expensive, I mean, I have expected this tyre s performance is not quite better than a luxury tyre.
After new four tyres were changed for my car when I drove my car I was very surprised because I had felt very stable and comfortable than I expected. Especially, when I went a curve road big difference occurred. I could feel better road holding and drive much confident than usual. After 10,000 Km used, I switched tyre s positions. I have been using these tyres for 3.5 years over 40,000 Km and still good condition. I would like to recommend this tyre and buy again.Read more

Grip is phenomenal, as expected from all the positive reviews. Comfort and road noise are also greatly improved over the OEM Bridgestone Turanza ER30s they replaced.I too have reservations about durability, especially given that tread depth was only 7mm when new. Front tyres now have 6 mm tread, so going well at this stage; however, I think that 40k is probably all they will do before reaching the TWI - compared to 75k from the original Turanzas. While happy with these PS3s, will probably try Bridgestone Adrenalin R003s next time.Read moreSimilar opinion? I drive on 235/40 R18's on my 2002 V8 Commodore Station Wagon. Important to me is wet weather grip and the tyres ability to handle road imperfections given that I have gone from 16" to 18" wheels. These are premium fitted tyres fitted to most European cars. At just under $700 fitted with an alignment they are a bargain for what they can do. The result is a car that is glued to the road in the wet. Heavy acceleration in a straight line or around corners is no problem and inspires confidence. Freeway speeds are relaxing especially around sweeping bends. The handling is phenomenal with bumps absorbed and no rattles in the vehicle.Thank you Jax for telling me how it is and giving me a great deal straight up with no nonsense. Jax also spent extra time on the alignment as the adjustment had seized and they were way out. Their workmanship is of the highest quality. They now have a new loyal customer.Read more

So far ive got over 67500 k's on these beauties and still going well. Ive rotated them every 6 months. Ive had them for about 4.5 years on my car. Ive got about 10-12500 tread left. Great for everyday driving conditions. Perfect tyre if you plan to buy the whole 4 tyres. You can buy a cheap tyre and that will get you from A to B and only last you a year. You can buy these tyres and get you from point A to B and do everything they need in between and last much longer. These tyres have a good compound and are not heavy or light. I have no regrets buying these tyres. They did my car good and its at a realistic price. Highly recommended. One of the longest lasting tyres Ive ever had!!Read more

Now that I have put about 1,000km they are nowhere near as good. Now they tend to be 'slippy'. If I need to get away in a hurry, these tires loose traction. In a straight line they just barely hold on under full acceleration. In a corner you can forget it. I'm thinking these tyres must have a thin initial gripy layer from factory. When it wears off, it is no better than any other 'general tyre'. I drive gently, but when I need to move or get out of the way, these tyres tend to let me down.Read more

The car handles much, much better than the original spec Dunlops which were 2.5 x more expensive and slipped from new because Mazda decided 180+KW via the front wheels was a good thing. I’ve pushed them so much harder too and they just refuse to break traction even when I’ve thought to myself “yep – this time it’s going to let go a little.â€The cliche of “Like Riding on rails†or “grips like crap of a stick†is fitting here because it is so very, very true. I'’ve not had the pleasure of putting these through their paces in wet weather yet but, something tells me that I'’ll not be disappointed with them in that domain either.*****EDIT - JUST HAD MY FIRST SPIRITED DRIVE IN WET*****At last, I can actually drive my car with confidence in all conditions. It rained pretty heavy the other night and I specifically went for a drive to see whether or not the wet performance matched the dry. Simply put, I let out an audible "What an amazing tyre" followed by a few "wow's" here and there.I'm about to do a regional trip for work so I'll give my verdict on freeway driving upon my return next week.Read more

Wow! What an amazing improvement of the handling and grip over the rather "average" Dunlop Sport SP 01's, that came as standard on this model Corolla from the factory. Those that drive on Michelin PS3's know what I'm talking about when I say that these tyres are amazing! I don't reckon there would be any tyre on the market in a 205/55 R16 W size that handles and grips that good in wet or dry conditions as these. My first car was a brand new 1998 Subaru Liberty RX auto with factory Michelin MXV8 195/60 R15 V tyres fitted. Obviously these tyres are not as good as the current PS3's, but these tyres in their day, driving up (or rather flying up) the Gilles Range from Cairns to the Atherton Tablelands handled very well especially in the wet. I guess I am rather biased towards Michelin as I've read many times that Michelin spend millions of Euro's each year on R&D to continually improve their product, and this really shows in the PS3's on my Corolla. (I also have a Toyota RAV4 with Michelin Latitude Cross tyres, Again an excellent tyre.) I don't drive like a clown on our roads, as I usually have the worlds most precious cargo on board (My family), however there is the odd occasion that one wants to drive a little spirited, and these tyres grip and grip, especially in wet weather! Most importantly to me, when the wife is driving my car in the most atrocious road conditions, I want to put full faith in the tyres fitted on the Corolla. These Michelin PS3's give me that confidence in spades. Bravo Michelin!Read more

I have always bought Michelins on my other cars, but in some moment of stupidity I thought I would try the Pirellis (maybe it was the calendar), and wasted my money. I should have just stuck with Michelins. Effectively the Pirellis cost twice as much per km as the Michelins and the handling and road noise is not as good.Anyway, I just did an advanced driving course. These tyres stopped my car in half a car length from 40kph. The other cars without Michelin tyres took between 2x and 4x this distance to stop. My car handles like it is on rails. Most people who travel with me comment on how quite they are. I have found these to be great in all weather conditions and road types including small runs on gravel roads all over NSW. What I like the most about these is that they are made in France not China. Some of the other brands I have tried charge the same for Chinese made tyres which do not wear or hold onto the road as well as the Michelin Pilot Sport 3Read more

Said to my self, it's my way or the highway, I'm putting them on. Her car has been transformed with sports car grip, I still can't believe how much difference tyres can make to a car. However, my wife has quite different needs to me, so when we are buying a tyre for her use a balance of grip and comfort are needed. My wife’s car is a Holden Astra Sri 2.2. In the last three years we have had three types of tyre on the car with differing results (she claims I wear them out!).In order, oldest first the tyres the car has had have been:Dunlop SP Sport 3000 (replacement for those is now the SportMax)Bridgestone RE001 AdrenalineMichelin Pilot Sport 3I loved the original Dunlops as they had incredible wet weather grip and excellent turn in feel. However, their on road comfort was average to poor with significant tyre roar at medium to high speed and the odd bit of crashiness over manholes or other potholes. For pure speed they were hard to beat, but for my wife they were invasive and tiring over long distances. The front Dunlops were shot after only 12000km of hard driving. We shopped around to try and find a tyre that offered similar performance but was a little better for comfort. Having spoken to some friends in the trade and reviewed on line I was assured that the ultimate tyre should be the Bridgestone RE001. We bed the tyres in as usual for the first few days. I went up a favourite twisty road and entered a right hander in the wet I usually would take at about 60kmh at the same speed. The car understeered so much I had it on full lock, and it was more luck that judgment that the car didn’t go off. I put it down to either the road surface having diesel on it, or the tyre not having been bed in. However, in wet conditions the RE001’s were a liability from then on. They also had incredibly soft sidewalls and on turn in all sense of steering feeling was lost. In terms of ride comfort they were noisier than the Dunlops on coarse seal, but the same on smooth tarmac, although, and probably as a result of the soft sidewall, they used to bounce over potholes or manhole covers as the sidewall flexed, so much so that you could feel the steering wheel shudder on occasion. I wouldn’t touch another Bridgestone. The current and latest tyre is the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (size 225 / 50 / 16). After searching far and wide and looking at other reviews my much favoured Dunlops were only receiving mediocre reviews. We drove a few different cars with different tyres on. At this point I must state that I had promised myself in the 1990s to never have a car with Michelin’s on it, as at that time they used to do pretty much what the Bridgestones did as described above. However, I can say hand on heart that the Pilot Sport 3 is a very high quality piece of kit.Turn in, while not as crisp as the Dunlop, is certainly very close in feel. What is better is that when the tyre is fully loaded in a corner and a bump is hit the Michelin’s refuse to be pushed off line, whereas the Dunlops would generally start to wander out with each bump. You can feel the Michelin’s settle in to the corner (i.e. the sidewall gives a little) but its more than reassuring rather than disconcerting.Tyre noise is significantly lower than either the Dunlop or Bridgestone, so much so that we thought the window seals had perished as we can now hear a bit of windroar, whereas before all we could hear was tyres! The Michelin’s do not tramline as the Bridgestones would, and they are very quiet on coarse seal, which is a problem in New Zealand. For longer journeys the Michelin is far superior to either of its competitors and is certainly grippier in the wet than even the Dunlop which was a surprise. Overall the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is a tyre I would recommend to anyone who wants good high performance without sacrificing ride quality. One of the best tyres I have ever used on a road car.Read more

I’ve found these tyres to be good in all conditions and great for dry weather driving. I’m very happy with the wear and would buy these tyres again.

Write a review!

having had hundreds of tyres in the past they i would rate them a 80/100
good for a spirited daily driver but if you want more id suggest getting something like a semi slick or even the bridgestone re003.

After reading reviews here with many people saying they had managed 40,000 to 50,000km on a set I was expecting decent life out of these. Mine were down to the tread wear indicator after 17,000km and I am replacing them after less than 19,000km. Tyres were rotated and wear was even so I am assuming there were no issues with alignment or camber that contributed to the low durability. They were always correctly inflated (my car has a tyre pressure warning system) and I am no hoon.I contacted Michelin customer service and they directed me to a sales rep for the area. Waiting for a response but not really expecting they will do much about it.Will be replacing with a different brand that I use on my Subaru and get around 35-40,000km out of with very similar performance.EDIT: I was contacted by a Michelin rep, who contacted the retailer for some extra info. They checked the vehicle and determined that the wheel alignment was out - apparently this is was enough to chew through the tyres so quickly. I will be having the alignment checked every 5000km and hopefully get more life out of the new set.Read more

The new Michelins are ok. The tread is not as deep as I thought would be . But they hug the road in very wet weather . Also they are not noisy in fact they are quiet . Which is contrary to what the Honda service person said they would be .

It felt like every bump had been softened a hair, but there is no perceptible loss in grip and agility. They're not cheap, but so what? Those few inches of rubber on the road are what's between you and God knows what. Never skimp on tyres!Read more

I have them fitted to my high performance vehicle.I found they had excellent grip in all Aussie weather conditions, especially in the wet. I also found that they had low noise and good tread life. The only real downside is that they can be a little more expensive than more common tyres, but i think they are worth the extra money for the added grip and the extra safety that grip affords.I would highly recommend these tyres to anyone wanting safe, dependable tyres for their vehicle.Read more

Running on 225/45 17s, I tried these on my R34 Skyline GTT after a few years using Bob Jane Xenon Z7s and what an improvement they are, especially in the wet! Instead of getting instant wheelspin and the tail kicking sideways as soon as I got near full boost and the car slithering around dangerously under acceleration or cornering (even at low speed), these Michelins just keep on gripping. I feel much more confident about driving in the wet now and dry road grip is noticeably improved too. I haven't tried them on the track yet but I'm sure they would work well there tooRead more

I was ready to buy a set of 17" alloys and tyres with a higher profile until I read the reviews on the Pilot Sport 3. Fitted them last week and what a difference. Although not runflats I purchased a can of Slime and a small compressor which should get me out of trouble. BMW , Mercedes and many other car makes insist on fitting runflat tyres. Due to tyre load rating I had to fit Michelin Sport 2 to the rear. The car came with Pirelli P7 and whenever I drove the car, quite frankly, I thought what a boring car it is. With the new tyres, what a difference. Crisp turn in and an involvement in driving that never existed with the Pirellis. The car is now a sensational drive. My wife whilst not a "sports" driver has commented upon the quiet comfortable ride and that the car seems to steer better! The tyres are still too new to make a comment on life, however, I note some of the other comments re life and feel I must comment. This is my second set on this car (previous set got 60k km, as they will do if you maintain your vehicle correctly **note this, other reviewers complaining of poor tyre life**). It was really hard to get it to even hint at misbehaving on the skid pan during the course. These tyres are fantastic.Read more
