This tyre came highly recommended from a colleague. Spoke to a few local tyre shops and decided to go with Bob Jane T-Mart.
The grip of this tyre is amazing especially in the wet. It just grips wet or not.
The tyre wear so far seems great but they ve only been on for two months.
I havent really noticed an improvement in fuel consumption but that is most likely due to the tyre having been fitted to a small car.Read more

The good;
Amazing wear for a car not driven like a Granddad, 100,000Kms has got to be excellent in anyone s book.
Held pressure really well and very even wear, would have been contributing factors to the longevity.
Hard to say on road noise, definitely not noisy , but not quiet either.
Grip on a dry road was satisfactory, hung on with no histrionics. However, like all tyres, slowly got worse as they wore down.
The bad;
Wet grip not what you d call good when new, ok at best. Meant the car had to be driven with far more caution than in the dry. Wet braking also not the best, tendency to lock up quite early on a non ABS car. As they wore the wet grip went downhill, until by the end of their life, if you were in good mood, entertaining , in not so good a mood unnerving .
Can t comment on the advertised better fuel consumption, nor can anyone else unless you do a proper scientifically based appraisal.
Overall these tyres proved the old adage that long wearing tyres are harder, less grippy and worse in the wet than softer tyres. That s also to say they re not terrible by any stretch of the imagination.
If you re someone who is happy to cruise around from A to B and have ABS then these are a tyre you should seriously consider.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

My XM1s were very satisfactory, but, I noticed an immediate difference with virtually no road noise.We have since done several trips to the same place, over 120kms each way, and I am particular in watching our fuel consumption and I can assure you that where I was getting just under 11kms per litre with the XM1s, I clearly got 12.5Kms per litre with the new tyres. Now this is a 15 y.o. 6 cylinder Nissan Maxima and we drive to the speed limit and my overall reaction to these new tyres is extremely positive.Read more

The Energy XM2 is sold as having lower rolling resistance, and hence better fuel consumption, but I didn t notice any improvement. If there was a change then it was less than 1/2 L/100km.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

I drive mainly in inner city Sydney and occassional freeway/highway driving.I Got four Micheline XM2 because I read the reviews here regarding XM1+'s durability, safety and milage. As soon as I drove off the tyre store with New XM2's I could feel the difference. Steering was light and drive was effortless. Car just glide on the road without excessive acceleration. Most importantly braking response is as good as Dunlop Fast Response. I need to see whether it gives at least 70,000 KM to get most bang out of my bucks. Also I haven't tested it in wet road yet. Cannot complement theses tyres enough, the road noise is very quiet, the ride is noticeably smoother than some cheaper Bridgestones that were on the vehicle, have not calculated if the km per litre figures are better than others, so no objective evidence one way or the other, but subjectively feel they are better. Road holding, sure footed when pushed and in the wet. Minimal wear since purchased, on the daily driver, racking upwards of 40k since they went on. Would look to purchase again, feel they are worth the extra dollars. Have purchased some higher performance Bridgestone for another vehicle, think the Michelin XM2 tyres are better in all aspects for a car that spends the vast majority of its life on public roads. I did get a nitrogen fill for theses tyres as well.Read more

A recent $70 off for a full set of the 195/60R15 swayed me to try them. I drive a turbocharged 626 that kicks out plenty of torque from the front wheels so many tyres can't handle the load without breaking traction, necessitating the use of semi slick tyres. Well blow me away. These tyres grip better than anything else I've ever used in a non racing tyre, corner aggressively, handle frost/sleet on the road without issue and as a nice bonus are more fuel efficient. All for $470 fitted for all corners.The only negative (and I'm being picky here) is road noise is slightly higher than some other road tyres. Minor issue though. I can't speak highly enough of them.Read more

The tyre grooves are very wide allowing nails to easily penetrate - I have had to get nails removed twice since March and been stuck having to change to the spare on the side of the road. I find they don t hold air very well, 5 psi loss over 2 months. I have never had this problem on my previous set - Hankook Optimo K415. They drive nicely, just as good as the Optimo although don t think they are strong and durable as the Optimo. The tyres are on a Toyota Avalon 2002 model - they are known for excessive front wheel tyre wear. My previous brand got 60 k without rotation. Time will tell how long they last. They are far superior then the Bridgestone. Jax tyres advertise fuel economy although I haven been getting increased miles since i bought them, but getting less then the Optimo with on average 20 ks less on a full tank.Read moreSimilar opinion? My driving is a combination of city, highway, and spirited driving. The grip is great! It rivals the Bridgestone Potenza's that came as OEM fitment on the two VE SV6 comany cars I had a few years ago, despite the VZ's suspension being somewhat old, and nowehere near as good as the VE's, and the XM2's being 40mm less in width! The XM2's are better than the Bridgestone Turanza's that came on the VE Calais company car I had after the SV6's. The XM2's replaced a set of Bridgestone Supercats that were 20mm wider (largest size recommended for the wheels on my VZ), and even still, the XM2's beat them hands down in every way!For wear, the Potenza's didn't come close to the XM2's! I'm not 100% sure about how they compare for noise, because the VE's were all quieter cars than the VZ, so it's hard to compare for anything other than hard cornering squeal: pulling hard around corners, the XM2's squeal enough to let me know that I'm pushing them, but they still have plenty of grip! In the same type of situation, the Potenza's didn't make any noise, but they would also start sliding without warning. I would rather have a slight squeal telling me to back off a bit (ie: the noise is actually a positive in this respect - another win for the XM2's).In the wet the XM2's are great! Certainly better than the Potenza's. Just recently, I got a very very slight slide in the front in the wet (most tyres would slide a lot more in the conditions), but it was very easily controllable, and the feedback was brilliant! The only tyres I've had that have better grip than these are the ones on my motorcycle, but that's a whole different game altogether!With all of that said, I'm going to buy a set for my wife's car because I want her to have a set of tyres that I can trust with her life and our daughter's life!Read more

I’ve travelled 51,000kms with them so far and this was mainly in city/suburban driving and some on highways, I haven’t done any dirt driving so I can’t tell how they perform there. These tyres have worn very well and I think they still have at least 15,000kms worth of tread left on them before I have to replace them. They brake well, are faultless in the wet and around corners, they don’t squeak when pushed hard and I’ve only had 1 puncture with them due to a self-tapping screw imbedding itself into the front left tyre. The tyre is a just a little noisy on highway cruising when driving on that course pebbled paved roads that most of our highways are paved with but on the smooth paved roads they are faultless and very quiet. I am very satisfied with them and they have given me superior service as a tyre of this high quality should. But one thing is that they are expensive when they go for $189 to $199 per tyre. I’m in the process of looking for a new set if I can find a tyre that is just as good but at a lower price, if not, then I would wait and grab these at the first chance when I see them on special anywhere.Read more

Unbelievably good in the wet, ride good, handling like on rails and didn't wear out for another 3 years! Tried to get XM1+ again in March but could only get XM2 as the XM1s had been 'superseded'. Why do companies screw around with perfection? The XM2s have a different tread pattern (much larger central grooves) meaning they are noisier, the sidewalls aren't as stiff meaning the handling is spongier - not good for a people-carrier - ie. roll oversteer (this means wet cornering is far less confident) unless I put 40psi in them. They also 'drag' more. By looking at how the tread is wearing so far, I can tell straight away they won't last anywhere near as long as the XM1+.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

Size is 185/65/14.When purchased I told the tyre fitters I wanted two things: quietness and long wear. I don't really care so much about grip, looks etc.After driving a few thousand kilometres on them here are my thoughts.They're quiet, but not particularly so - I've had Bridgestones and Goodyears that were quieter. But they are quieter than the Yokahamas they replaced.The steering feel is a bit wooden - the Yokahamas were better in this respect - but the actual steering response is excellent.Ride comfort is very good.Grip levels are way beyond the Yokahamas, especially in the dry. In fact that's these tyres biggest strength - they really do stick tremendously well - better than any other tyre I've ever had. Even if (like me) you don't necessarily drive around every corner like it was a Grand Prix, the level of grip of these tyres gives a feeling of confidence in the the car and makes the drive that much more pleasureable. And safer too.The jury is still out on how long they'll last, but so far wear seems pretty modest.Overall I'm very happy with these tyres and would certainly recommend them. If you can find some Bridgestones or Goodyears for the same price then they'd probably be fine too.Read more

The bad;

For this application they seem a fine tyre. The grip seems OK for a cheapish product, and there is no sign of them wearing out after 14 000 km.
The Energy XM2 is sold as having lower rolling resistance, and hence better fuel consumption, but I didn t notice any improvement. If there was a change then it was less than 1/2 L/100km.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

Got 60,000 out of them and not down to the check mark yet. Only compared to 50K for the RE92s. Much better handling AND FAR SUPERIOR in the wet. My car has racked up 300 K's without missing a beat in all conditions including highway, gravel, off road through paddocks, cane fields, creeks etc and I swear by these tyres.Read more

I'm not sure of the mileage on the Michelin's because they were on the car which I bought second hand. I've travelled 15000k on thePirelli's and I'm fairly happy but the Michelin's were definitely a more comfortable tire. In all other respects I find them similar but for ride alone I will purchase Michelin's next time. The ride really is so much more comfortable.Read more
Good wearing tyre and a good all-round tyre These tyres were standard fitment on my Citroen C4 Seduction e-HDI EGS turbo diesel. I’m in the process of looking for a new set if I can find a tyre that is just as good but at a lower price, if not, then I would wait and grab these at the first chance when I see them on special anywhere.Read more
Noisy and increased fuel consumption - don't believe the hype These tyres are by far the most noisy I have ever owned. They are quiet on coarse-chip roads and handle very well in the wet and dry. Best of all, they're not too soft and show minimal wear. A big improvement over the Falkens that wore out in about 23,000 km of comparable driving!Read more

Only good thing about XM2 is they are less noisy on the road than XM1s for sure.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!
