Excellent tyres for all conditions
Unable to get the tyres I prefer. These were suggested as a suitable option. Cannot fault them. Ideal for all conditions and smooth ride.
Hankook RF10's
These tyres are a lot quieter than my old Bridgestones. I haven't been off road with them yet. Hopefully I get the same km I got from my Bridgestones
Hankook Dynapro ATm
These tyre were fitted when I bought the vehicle secondhand and have done approximately half the time towing a 3 tonne van. In this time I have had 1 puncture. I have just replaced all 4 road tyres with the same size and type.

Have 2 second-hand (bought at 9mm tread) on the front, and a crazy mixture on the back: Maxxis Escapade CUV and Eagle F1 (both wearing out horribly after 35000km, but I have two brand-new RF10 s lurking in the roof with which to replace them when they die). The RF10 s on the front are down to 6.5mm after 35000 km s and I fully expect to see 80-100K out of them. Three sorts of driving in that 35K:1 - work - slogging around town - probably 2/3rds of that distance
2 - towing a little 2-berth caravan - say 1/3rd of the distance - all up perhaps 1300 Kg towed weight
3 - ski trips up icy, snowy and generally rough ski tracks - perhaps 1-2000 km
All three circumstances, the RF10 s have performed fine. Bearing in mind the mixture, it is not a pure comparison, but the wear factor alone is telling: the RF10 s are wearing very slowly, whereas both the Maxxis CUV and the Eagle will be shot at 45K - half the distance I expect out of the Hankook s.
All in all- very pleased. Run them at 36psi and wear is very even, no noticeable shoulder wear considering they are on the front of a grunty turbo diesel and do the bulk of the actual propulsion (Santa Fe is AWD but in practice spends most of its time as FWD).
Highly recommended, bearing in mind YMMV....Read more

Good in the wet and where I live in the country I get to cope with greasy mud smeared roads (brought out from the farms) which the tyres cope with really well. There is no sign of wear despite having put them through some pretty rough testing in the high country on both rocks and in mud. Wear life at normal inflations was exceptional. Have replaced the old tyres in last 18months with the same tyre and have so far done around 60000kms. No issues as yet except for a recent puncture near the side wall in a rear tyre on a country run to wellington NSW which was fixable at $30 so the tyre life may be a bit reduced by that as we ran it unknowingly at around 10psi for 400kms. Will advise when next replacement occurs. Otherwise a very happy camper.September 7th 2017 Update: Just changed hankook dynapro tyres on my vehicleFurther to my previous review of Hankook Dynapro. I have just replaced my last set of Hankooks as the left hand side walls were damaged on a concrete kerb. The local dealership price was great so I took the opportunity to replace them all for a new set. We will see how the new ones go.Read more

They were also a bargain at under $200 each fitted. I use my ute off road once a month or so and most of the time it's my daily drive - so these are a great compromise for a tough off road look and use and for zipping to the shops etc. I have done a week in the high country with pressures around 26 and they performed unbelievably. There are some nuggets gouged out from them but they handled double black diamond 4x4 tracks easily. Even in the wet I rate these tyres - and wheel spin on the black top is now a thing of the past even with an empty ute tray.Addition 2017My truck is now written off so my review is now not contemporary- so please take review on 12 months of usage.Read more

Amazingly good All Terrain Tyre. And they last very well. 2/3rds the price of any other decent All T We live in rural Tasmania, and in winter, we do get snow on nearby mountain ranges. So we want tyres that can handle snow, and at least give us a chance in heavy frost. Our family car is by necessity, a Turbo-Diesel 4WD wagon. We chose a NT Pajero (which is an amazingly good family wagon BTW); it was built with 18 inch wheels (265/60R18). There is NOT a big choice of tyres in 18 inch sizes (but that is improving with time), and the typical price for a Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear or Dunlop, to fit our Paj is around AUD$380 to $450 each. The Hankook ATM in 265/60R18 are around $250 each, and they are extra-load rated (114 versus 109/110 for most of the others).I am a person who uses their 4WD as the manufacturer intended - all kinds of off-road and on-road conditions, including heavily-loaded- towing a 2 tonne caravan; but I never abuse my vehicle. It is correctly and expertly maintained. It is driven with respect and care, but it IS driven, and driven anywhere we need or want to go, in any weather.I went by the experience we have had with other cars in our family. Brother and sister-in-law both live well out of town. Both drive Toyota RAV4. Brother has set of Hankook Dynapro HP, that we can prove from receipts have done 102,000 km. They are still (barely) legal. Not bad. Sister-in-law has Hankook Dynapro HT on her RAV4. She is a press-on driver. Her Hankooks have survived over 70,000 km of torture, and still have more than 4.5 mm of tread left. Even better. The wife has a Honda CRV automatic. It has Hankook Dynapro HP on it. Only ever used on sealed roads, but NEVER had any issues. The Hankooks have done 87,000 kms. They have about 1.8 mm of tread to go before they are down to the legal 1.6 mm. Should get about 100,000 km. Very good. Now My Pajero has Hankook ATMs. They have done 41,000 km. 2.6 mm of the original 9.5 mm tread depth has worn, leaving 5.3 mm of useable (legal) tread. So they are roughly 1/3rd worn at 41,000 km. Reckon I'll get 90,000 km out of the Hankooks, at least. And the Amazing thing is, the ATMs are truly excellent in sand and on snow, does not matter what type of snow. They are OK in mud, but they are not mud tyres. These Hankook ATMs are fantastic on-road, hot and dry, cold and pouring down, makes little difference. They are predictable, safe, and impressive handlers with excellent braking capacity. ABS only engages in extreme circumstances, as in emergency braking. Traction control rarely engages, as the grip is so good.VERY IMPRESSED.Read more

I just had to change my LT265x16 x75R on my 1998 Nissan Patrol after travelling a mighty 190,000klms!!, yes that's right 190,000klms and I reckon I could of got another 10k's just that one tyre was on the wear marks and the other 3 still had about a millimetre left. I travel about 80k a year on all types of roads from Hwy, dirt, snow and a bit of 4WDriving too. My Patrol is pushing 3 Tonne most of the time so it's no lightweight and you can also throw towing into the mix, so the tyres didn't have an easy life. Highly recommended and another set have gone on.Read more

The tyres still had some tread but as it was heading into winter, I decided to do the change earlier. The Dynapros have seen highway and off-road in all weather, a number of trips through the Flinders Ranges on dirt, rock and shake to coastal sand driving... they've done it all. Sure footed in the wet at any highway speed, a little noise at first getting a bit louder as they wore, but they are reasonably aggressive so really not much noise compared to other tyres we have had. I have had Coopers HTR's that scrubbed out in under 40,000 with the same driving... never again! This is our 3rd Mitsi 4WD and many different set of tyres over the years, these I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting a solid all-round and good looking tyre. Just got these last month and drove Melbourne to Fraser island and back. Can still see little bumps where the needles were in the rubber towards the edge. Excellent on road, wet or dry. Great in the sand, had them down to 16PSI no probs. Mine were inflated to 42PSI when I had them fitted and they still feel more comfy than my BFG's and certainly quieter. I did a 200km round trip on the highway last night and found the Hankooks very hard riding. They seem to magnify every little bump in the road and I felt pretty fatigued by the constant road vibration all the way. The tyre dealership has them pumped up to 38psi all round and assures me that is the correct pressure, but I'm wondering if that is the problem. Does anybody have any feedback on likely long-term effects if I drive them at a lower poundage? The tyres are nice and quiet for a good chunky tread and a great price at $182 fitted. Done about 2k off road on some dry and very rocky steep hills as well as flat muddy terrain and plenty of gravel. No cuts, damage or punchers so far.I run these at 38 psi front and 34 psi rear unladen.

They show almost no signs of wear at this stage and I expect they will last a good while. I run mine up close to 40psi, they just feel better with more grip and less bounce. I am not to happy with the amount of bagging even at those pressures maybe a wider rim would help.Read more

My Patrol is pushing 3 Tonne most of the time so it's no lightweight and you can also throw towing into the mix, so the tyres didn't have an easy life. Highly recommended and another set have gone on.Read more

Best tyre at the best value on the market. Bought 4 of them over 3 years ago for my Nissan Patrol GU wagon. Handling is positive, the tyres are quiet, and in 3 years and 30,000km they genuinely still look as good as new.I have just bought another Patrol and I've ordered a set of Hankook ATM RF10s to be fitted to it today.Advice: When buying tyres, do your research then ring around the dealers and negotiate the best price. Your options are limited when you're already standing at their counter - it's a different story when you're comparing prices on the phone!Read more

So far very happy, possibly quieter than the Yokohama's that were on from new; some mild humming/whirring noise at 60-8-km/hr but no more noise and probably quieter at 100-110 km/hr. Very pleased with ride quality even though they put 6-8 lb more pressure in the tyres than I was running previously. Looking forward to trying them offroad and seeing how long they last. Measured 13mm of tread depth yesterday.Read more

The tyre dealer assured me when I purchased them that I would at least get 80000km out of them HOW WRONG was he..Albeit that we do live out on a property, but I only travel to town once a week and only drive about 30kms max on gravel roads. As for running the right tyre pressures and the general rotating of tyres was all correct as my husband is a ex tyre fitter. As for the tyre dealer well of course he takes no responsiblity and tells me its the roads on drive on and I should have gone for the MTs!!!!Read moreSimilar opinion? Unfortunately one flat, flint between tread, could happen to any tyre and had succesfully patched in Cararvon. I didn't find stones a particular problem and only a slight hum on very smooth blacktops between 50 and 80 kph. All in all very happy and value for money.Read more

HOW GOOD ARE THESE TYRES.... BRILLIANT Just purchased our second set of 265/60X18 tyres for our 2007 NS Pajero after 88,000kms with only 1 puncture ever. At $250 for each corner, for 18" these are well priced too....Read more

Having said that, the pattern is a little narrow so stones do get caught on the gravel roads and will continue to flick out for a few kms once back on the bitumen.Read more

Will see what happens with lower air poundage.Read more

I was worried these might be a bit over the top for my car but have proved a perfect fit. Very quiet on the black top and great on the gravel & sand. I've done 3k kms on these now mainly towing a caravan. They have given me much more confidence than the Kumho's from the factory and at about $100 cheaper per tyre than the Coopers, Pirelli etc I was looking at I'm more than satisfied. Give em a go.UPDATE:This is a follow up to my previous post on these tyres. I've now done 10k kms on these and have put the tyres thru more conditions. They still look brand new, still quiet and have found these excellent in the wet, both pulling up the car and cornering. The car now is being used as the daily commute (as opposed as our tow tug on around Oz trip) and I can't fault these tyres. Very happy with this purchase.Read more

Excellent off road grip an durability and excellent handling in all conditions. Best of all is how quiet they are for an all terrain tyre. All 5 of my tyres took very little lead to balance and this is usually a good sign of the quality.Have done 20k on them so far and very little sign of wear. Done about 2k off road on some dry and very rocky steep hills as well as flat muddy terrain and plenty of gravel. No cuts, damage or punchers so far.I run these at 38 psi front and 34 psi rear unladen. I bump the rears to 38 if I'm carrying more than 200kg in the tray.Got these at my local dealer for $180 each f&b.You'd be hard pressed to find better A/T rubber for the price.Read more
