Super impressed with these tyres. Better behaved than most all terrains I've owned. Sidewalls are super strong so found i need to drop the PSI more than other brands for them to really hook up offroad

Maxxis Razr Competent Tyres
Having used a variety of 'off road' tyres for many years, predominantly MT's, I can say that Maxxis Razr tyres are superb for what I demand of a tyre. The last 8 years have been in the far north of the Kimberley and Arnhem Land regions, which consisted of dry gravel, rocky terrain, sand, mud, water crossings and cross country(no tracks). The Razr is a tyre that performed extremely well under all these conditions. Yes, there are no doubt other options better suited for highway and gravel roads, but I always have confidence in these when off the 'blacktop'.

Maxxis Razr MT
As I live in the West Kimberley, I opted for the more aggressive tread pattern that the Razr offers. Most driving is on dirt roads that turn to slushy mud after rain. The Razr tyres I put on were less than 7000 kilometres old when I picked up a puncture 20 mm in from the shoulder of the tyre. Obviously a rock had pierced between the lugs and the tyre deflated rapidly. I did a quick repair on the side of the road and when I dropped the tyre off in Derby where I had purchased it, was told it could not be repaired. Another new tyre set me back another $330. I'm now dubious about the Razr model being able to do the job required. Previously I used the MT 764 model Maxxis tyre in Arnhem Land and had no issues with that model. I suppose its a matter of 'wait and see' as to how they perform. MLO
