Hopeless in the wet
I replaced the two front tyres on my Falcon BA Wagon with NCT5 s less than a year ago and they were ok in the dry. When driving in the wet, however, they are treacherous. Navigating a round about or right hand turn in the wet is difficult at low speed without skidding or sliding. Do not feel safe driving in wet with these tyres.

Average at best.
This nct5 [thailand made] are useless in the wet, the tail of the car wants to come around unless your very gentle with the throttle, its like tyres they made in the 70 s with zero technology, would not recommend them, not worth the possible loss of control of the vehicle, odd because the goodyear ga [aussie made] tyres on the falcon ute where and are a legend, might hunt some of those down

90.000 and still going
I ve been very impressed with these tyres. Quite, feel very safe under all conditions and I ve just clicked over 90.000 ks on my 1.9 TDI Golf and I estimate another 10.000 to go. Biggest disappointment was picking up a 40mm PK screw and losing the right front. If I can still get them I ll certainly be looking at replacing them with the same.

No good
Thought a good name company meant good tyres - NOT! Handled average to below average in the dry, in the wet have to go very slow along roundabout otherwise you fell the car slip. Noisy tyres, bumpy. The performane does not match there price or the company s big name. You won t get what you pay for here, in fact you get a very lesser tyre than what you paid for. Also when the tyres reached there 50% wear life, the car was all over the road, tracking was terrible, and in the wet, forget about it. Please do yourself a favour and look elsewhere, otherwise you will encounter all the mentioned issues these tyres have. You shouldn t have to put up or risk you safety with these.

2011 Ford FG Falcon XR6

Crap Tryes, never again.
These tyres came with my new 2011 FG Falcon XR6. They seemed ok for a while, not noisy and ran true however when I put the car in for it s 3000k service, the service manager pointed out to me that the tyres semed to be wearing unevenly. I ordered a wheel alignment there and then and it came back with just a minor adjustment required. I ran the tyres and at 18000k approx. I had to change them as they wore so much, they became illegal. I put a on cheap brand of the same size, Pace PC10 and they were fantastic. I soild the car with 72000k on the clock and the tyres passed the roadworthy inspection. They were quiet, felt safe to drive on in the wet and comfortable at 35psi.

Overpriced
Paid $205 each for them. Grip on a dry road was good. Handled pretty well too, provided that it s dry, but once the road gets damp, they lose traction way too easily. They wore very well, though: my first set lasted 57,000km and my second 46,000km. I have since replaced them with a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 and the car has been transformed. The Cinturato P7s has excellent wet and dry grip, is whisper quiet, and to top it all off, I only paid $165 each for them. There are better tyres than the Eagle NCT5 out there for less money.

Noisy tyre
Goodyear Eagle NCT5 is a noisy tyre especially if the tyre is worn out. I had 42.000 km but the noise of the tyre forced me to replaced them eventhough the tread about 2-3 mm. I think there are many better tyres for same price for examples Continental Comfort Contact 5 or Yokohama C.Drive 2.

Have had these tyres many time
I have heard one comment that these tyres are noisy - not true - I have had these tyres many times on my AUIII falcon sedan and they are the quietest tyre I have ever owned - and they wear well. They fill the wheel arch area well compared to some tyres. I am now using Goodyear Effiicientgrip because (even though the same size) it actually puts more rubber on the road, very slow tyre wear, feels solid and fills out the wheel arch area even a bit more than the NCT Eagle. Can t go wrong with either tyre

Good
These ones came as the factory tyres on our AH Turbo Astra. Although I d have personally purchased a more sports oreintated tyre for a turbo car, it needs to be said that these have actually been surprisingly good. Slightly noisy as the tread has worn down but we have managed to get 60,000 kms out of them so, on that basis, you can t really complain! We looked at replacing them with the same but found that they are being phased out in some sizes (replaced with a new model) and where we could find them the prices weren t all that competitive. Looking at around $200 a tyre and, for that price, there are better sports orientated options (Pirelli P7, Conti Sport Contact) available.

Highly recommended - Impressive Tyre wear
2010 Ford Focus Sedan Auto 4speed petrol. Wife s car ie; not harshly driven but heavy on the brakes. Just completed 70K service. Original NCT5 s still showing 3.5mm tread depth. Tyre pressures regularly checked at home and set at 36psi front and rear. Ford recommend 30psi front and 33psi rear! Would have thought the other way around. What do I know. I have the same year model vehicle with the same Tyre. Less heavy on the brake pedal. 57K on the clock. Still showing 4.5mm tread depth. I have had no concerns about stopping the vehicle under emergency braking in the wet or dry. Usually travel at or near to the speed limit on the open road and cannot fault the handling or ride. Road noise more or less about par with any number of other Tyre I have owned over the years in various vehicles. Always insisted on at least mid spec. Tyre equivalent to these NCT5 s. BTW at 40K wife had to replace two blown Tyre s due to kerb hopping (avoid dog). Replaced with Yokohama low profile somethings at $160each (highly recommended by Tyre supplier). These need to be replaced now after only 30K, showing 1.6mm tread depth. Make of that what you will.

Mixed thoughts
I bought a brand new Ford Focus TDCI diesel with Goodyear Eagle NCT5 s fitted. They are made in South Africa and are NOT the same tread pattern as illustrated here....but anyway, I just have to vent. I noticed that they were wearing fast....faster than I figured acceptable. Then, at service (23,000kms) I was advised that the front ones were illegal, due to lack of tread. On inspection they were completely shot on the outside edges of the tread and still with about half tread depth in the centre. Now this usually indicates that they have been run with low tyre pressures....but before you jump on me for causing the problem, and in my defense, the tread depth on the outside blocks of the tread is only half that of the depth it is on the inside 3 blocks. So they were designed to legally last only half as long as they could. The other factor that caused them to get to this stage so quickly was that on replacement, the wheel alignment showed the car was set up wrongly from the factory with toe-out on the drivers side and the correct amount of toe-in on the left. In conclusion, the reasons they became illegal so quickly was a combination of both Ford, South Africa, where the car was assembled, and Goodyear, for designing a tyre to be thrown away when its only half worn.

Overall im happy with the NCT5
Car; 2008 Ford Focus CL hatch. KMS; 63,500 Results; all 4 tyres worn even down to the wear bar indicators. Rear 2 worn a bit more on the inside due to the cars wheel camber. Never rotated them. Car mainly does highway kms, not so much town driving. 15,000kms would have been towing a 6x4 trailer. The rest just a well packed car. 5,000kms on dirt/unsealed roads. Im told they have stopped making the NCT5 and are moreso recommending the GOODYEAR duraplus for about 140ea. Im going to try the KUMHO KH17 now so look out for my review on that.

OK
I have 4 on my Merc E270 CDI and I ve done 41,000 kms. Today one of the rear tyres simply exploded and there was a huge hole in the side wall. I m now concerned about the safety of the remaining tyres.
